Camp Lejeune Justice Act - Who qualifies?

Water Contamination Lawsuit for Camp Lejeune Residents

If you were stationed at or lived near Camp Lejuene in North Carolina between August 1, 1953 and December 31, 1987 for at least 30 days, then you may have a claim under the Camp Lejeune Justice Act.

Studies have shown that the water supply at Camp Lejuene was contaminated by over 35 years of pollution. Several pollutants used as solvents and degreasers, including various oils, toxic chemicals, and industrial waste, were frequently dumped into storm drains in and around Camp Lejuene between 1953 and 1987. The EPA declared Camp Lejuene as a “major polluter” and discovered that buried fuel tanks in the area had leaked and tainted the local drinking water.

Congress passed the Camp Lejeune Justice Act in August, 2022, which will allow victims of the contaminated water at Camp Lejeune to file a claim against the U.S. Government for injuries sustained by ingesting  pollutants. Common injuries include:
• Esophageal cancer
• Breast cancer
• Kidney cancer
• Multiple myeloma
• Renal toxicity
• Female infertility
• Scleroderma
• Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma
• Lung cancer
• Bladder cancer
• Leukemia
• Myelodysplastic syndromes
• Hepatic steatosis
• Miscarriage
• Neurobehavioral effects
• Other serious medical issues…
